About the book

In this Imagination Station adventure, Patrick and Beth find themselves as guests in a beautiful castle in 15th-century England. Through a series of events, the steward of Lord Darkthorn’s castle finds the cousins with three artifacts collected in their previous adventures: the stone, the cup, and the golden tablet. They are accused of being thieves and locked in jail. Beth escapes and discovers the identity of the real thief, leading to a jousting contest with a surprising outcome. Set during the War of the Roses in England, Revenge of the Red Knight will teach readers about the Crusades, the integrity of knights and the vows they took, and why men would choose to risk their lives to fight for Christianity.

Our Thoughts

When the cousins were in China they were not sent back to Odyssey.   What happened?   Are they lost forever?

Turns out that they are in 15th century England and they will live adventures during the times of the Knights and joust.   In the mix of this adventure, they will encounter thieves and will have to defend their honor.   This new book is set during the War of the Roses in England.   What a wonderful way to experience and live history with beloved characters.    The Imagination Station series will help you discover history through a different angle.  My oldest son is enjoying reading these book and can’t seem to get enough.

Beautiful drawings are found throughout the book and illustrate the action in it.   The ones that I particularly like is when the cousins are holding a shield and facing a running horse and its knight going toward them.  This illustration needed to be big enough to shop the action so it takes two pages.

In the end, the cousins are back in Odyssey and you can sense that more adventures with The Imagination Station will happen.   The reader also has a little puzzle to solve if he/she wants to get a free episode of Adventures in Odyssey online.

The Imagination Station website has contain family activities, a parent’s page as well as more information on Vikings and Roman.   I assume that more fun pages will be added eventually for books 3 and 4.

I highly recommend The Imagination Station series for everyone.   Not only it is an entertaining read but it will introduce your kids to history in a different way.   Bring on the imagination and have fun with Adventures in Odyssey and The Imagination Station!
