Spot the Bird covers more than one hundred of the most common North American birds. My Thoughts

This book is absolutely fabulous for homeschoolers.   As your explore your surroundings this summer, you need to grab a copy of this book and bring it with you.   As you spot birds, your child will have the opportunity of finding the stickers and applying it inside the book to identify the ones he or she has seen during your outdoor adventures.

It is particularly fun to have if you camp a lot or travel with your kids.

So far in the book,I have identified about 22 birds that we have seen.    But there are still numerous ones that we need to spot and discover in the wild.

Last month, while we were away, we had the privilege to observe a ruby-throated hummingbird coming to feed in our of the bush our neighbor had.   These small birds don’t stay long but the kids enjoyed spotting it and calling it’s name while sitting in the trailer.   We also observed a blue jay, robins, black-capped chickadees and other birds.  The book also contains tidbits of information on the birds though I would suggest that you bring along another bird book to learn more about them.

If your child is interested in learning more about birds and love to go discover the kinds living close to your house, I would strongly suggest that you consider getting him/her this fun book where he/she can keep track of the birds that were spot.

Spot the Bird is available at your favourite bookstore, even amazon.ca.
