Inside The Revolution

Inside The Revolution: How The Followers Of Jihad, Jefferson & Jesus Are Battling To Dominate The Middle East And Transform The World

Written by Joel C Rosenberg

About the book
Inside the Revolution takes you inside the winner-take-all battle for the hearts, minds, and souls of the people of the Middle East. It includes never-before-seen profiles of the Radicals, the Reformers and the Revivalists. It explains the implications of each movement and the importance of each leader–not only through the lenses of politics and economics but through the third lens of Scripture as well. Today, wars and revolutions define the modern Middle East, and many believe the worst is yet to come.

• How real and serious is the threat of Radical Islam to American national security eight years after 9/11?
• Are there any Muslim leaders who oppose the violence of the Radicals—and is there any hope that such leaders will come to power in key countries in the Middle East?
• What is God doing in the Middle East—and is there any hope that Muslims will find faith in Jesus Christ?
• How can we as Christians help strengthen our brothers and sisters who love Jesus in the Muslim world, and how can we reach out to Muslims here at home?

My Thoughts
When I requested this book to review, I had just listened to a Focus On The Family episode where Joel Rosenberg was talking about the subject of his bookwith Dr. Dobson. I was highly interested and asked Tyndale for the possibility to review it. It took me some time to read it because I needed the “digest” the information I was reading.

The book is divided in three parts. The first part is about the radicals and it gives you the history and current reality of the jihad. The second part is about the reformers of Jefferson which represents the growing number of Muslim leaders who are seeking to follow and emulate Thomas Jefferson’s teaching and example. Finally, the third part is about the followers of Christ whose numbers are rising in Muslim countries.

While reading this book, you realize that the author knows his subject because he will give you lots of background information and history. Rosenberg took the time and the energy to interview Christian leaders in the epicentre, people who were involved in the events surrounding the development of Jihad since the 70s, and observe how politics are going in the Muslim countries. He writes boldly and explains all the history and events that is shaking our world more and more every day.

This book is packed with information and I find it is hard to read rapidly. I prefer taking it a little bit at a time so I can digest and ponder on the information I read. In the first section, I was particularly troubled by the fact that some men can just decided to kill without any remorse. I find it sad that such a thing happens and I pray with all my heart that God will change their heart and they will see what they are missing.

As much as personally this book is troubling me, I know that my two brother-in-laws will quite enjoy it because both of them have said that they would love to read it when I am done.

The book is available in hardcover, softcover, and audio version. There is also a documentary on DVD and a study guide available.

This review was possible because I received a free copy of Inside The Revolution from Tyndale House Publishers.

Inside The Revolution is available everywhere even at amazon.ca and indigo.ca.
